We β€οΈ our Chevy Bolt EUV. We got free installation on a home fast charger, but would recommend getting one even if not free. Totally worth it, and makes it simple to charge cheaply overnight.
The more I think on recent work by @gruberte.bsky.social @jlappen1.bsky.social @shastingssimon.bsky.social @jmijin.bsky.social and friends, the more inevitable it seems that governments will need to take over/wind down certain fossil businesses to avoid catastrophic failures and inequities. This...
"Living online becomes a vehicle of moral trivialization"
"The sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better."
The Defense Secretary calling for a billionaire ally of the government to take over a media outlet & make it more pro-government. This is what authoritarianism looks like. But in other countries they try & hide it.
Our planet is worth more than Big Oil profits.
Trumpβs DOJ is still concealing Epstein documents pertaining to the accusation that he battered and sexually assaulted a teenager. But FBI files are FOIA-able, and in this case the EFTA should supersede FOIA privacy exceptions other than to protect the accuserβs identity. So Iβm giving it a shot.
I can't even find the words to express how repugnant and despicable this post is.
People who spew such Islamophobic bile don't belong in the United States Congress. The job of elected officials is to combat hate, not fan its flames. (1/2)

El NiΓ±o is coming, and it is shaping up to be a big one.
Over at The Climate Brink I've put together a compilation of the latest forecasts by different modeling groups. They suggest that we might see an event comparable in strength to what we saw in 2016: www.theclimatebrink....
If we could just raise sea levels by 150 meters we get a backup Strait of Hormuz
The 2026 National Science Foundation budget is $8.75 Billion.
In less than 1 week, Trump wasted $11.3 BILLION of your taxpayer dollars on the Iran war.
Instead that money could have:
- Restored SNAP to 4 million Americans
- Established universal pre-K education
- Built 100,000 units of housing
Our priorities are warped.
Imagine how different everything would be had the U.S. enthusiastically embraced renewable energy back when Carter put solar panels on the White House or when James Hansen first testified about climate change before Congress in 1988. For one thing, over 150
Iranian schoolgirls would still be alive.
War can have big environmental impacts, in addition to the human and economic impacts.
Hereβs a tankerβs-worth of oil spilling into the water or burning into the atmosphere.
The conflict in Iran is hurting your walletβand the planet. The "Peace President" has gone to war, and Big Oil is already cashing the checks.
The only real path to security and peace is a fast, just transition to clean energy. You canβt hold the wind or sun hostage.
our boy's on it
5/ And on the Strait of Hormuz, they had NO PLAN. I can't go into more detail about how Iran gums up the Strait, but suffice it say, right now, they don't know how to get it safely back open.
Which is unforgiveable, because this part of the disaster was 100% foreseeable.

"Air pollution from coal-fired power plants spiked in 2025. The emission increases were among the largest in at least a quarter-century."
Just an intensely stupid policy all around.

The core revelation here is that Trump has lost the public *on the mass deportations themselves* and not just on ICE's brutal tactics. We have been arguing this for months but media has simply refused to acknowledge it. Now so obvious that it can't be avoided
A map of countries in the Middle East. There are coloured markers at locations where there have been incidents causing environmental harm between 28 Feb and 10 Mar 2026. The colour of the marker relates to the magnitude of environmental risk. The most high risk incidents are situated along the Gulf coast and near Tehran.
We've just updated our overview of environmentally damaging incidents in the Israeli-US war against #Iran. We've identified more than 300 incidents and remotely assessed 232 for harm.

Satellite imagery shows an oil spill off the south western coast of Sri Lanka on 5th March, and very close to beaches and protected areas on 7th March, likely caused by a U.S. torpedo destroying the Iranian navy vessel DENA.

God I hope Trump doesn't read this.
It's so bad that we've reached a point where members of Congress casually discuss stripping citizenship from and deporting people because they don't like their views.
lol it's the world's most pedantic bot!
This is rad, thanks for doing this!
I assume it would be another order of magnitude in difficulty, but is it possible to display the full viewshed for a given point?
