Amazing kitty! She is beautiful and clearly tenacious. I love her name, and, coincidentally, my teenager and I were just talking about Boudicca on Monday.

We rescued her from a storm drain late one night in August (she was 1 lb. and 4 weeks old), and she has been one of the best things to happen to our family in the last year. I love this little weirdo! π₯°

Wow! This is great. So rousing!
The next time I do patriotic music in a history or Am Studies class (where we consider patriotic songs from the US and compare with other countries', as well as "patriotic" pop music), this could be an interesting addition. Thanks for sharing. π

Photo of calico cat resting with her front legs entirely submerged in a large water dish while she looks at the camera.
During these challenging times, Moxie the cat wants to remind you that proper hydration is important to good self-care.

Picture of kitten's wet paw prints on a pad of paper in a mysterious pattern that could be art or could be a coded message.
Picture of small calico kitten balanced on a tree branch.
My kitten dipped her paws in her water dish and left these markings on a pad of paper... is it art? Is it a coded message? What do you think she is trying to say??? πΈ

Percival Everett, Author of βJames,β Wins National Book Award for Fiction
Jason De LeΓ³n received the nonfiction award for βSoldiers and Kings: Survival and Hope in the World of Human Smuggling.β
Delighted that Percival Everett's book "James" won the National Book Award for fiction. Imaginative, funny, gut-wrenching, dramatic -- really, an incredible book. If you haven't read it yet, you should.

Mutinous Women - How French Convicts became founding Mothers of the Gulf Coast
YouTube video by Fédération des Alliances Françaises USA
Joan DeJean's Mutinous Women (2022) traces 132 women wrongfully arrested and exiled in 1719 to the New World; they would become founders of New Orleans. This book is a tremendous accomplishment and well worth reading. ππ #history #WomensHistory #AmericanHistory
