Oh look, my novels on yet another US banned books list. It's Freedom to Read week here in Canada, during a time when fascists burning books is not hard to imagine at all.

Today’s office is brought to you by the cheapest oceanfront property to be had, a 91,913-word mess of a manuscript, two emotional support books (β€œNo One Left But You” by the brilliant Tash McAdam, and β€œAll the Light We Cannot See”) and several creepy horror movies downloaded for later. And snacks.

Estimate how much time something will take, and then double it. This works for creative projects, friendships, parenting, sex, grocery shopping, grief, bus trips, dinner, bubble baths.
Give yourself time, to simply not rush, allow for marvelous distractions along the way, or to let things go deep.
