I started paying for my lessons by doing house work for her on Saturday mornings. She would let me pick out a record or cd from her collection to listen to while we cleaned together. It was thru her that I learned about Regina Carter. This is still one of my top albums.
My husband and I were talking about women we admired, and we both agreed that our violin teacher from childhood was definitely top tier. She was so committed to arts education for kids. Fought our school board tooth and nail to keep funding arts, and taught so many kids. She was amazing.
