Ismar shared his work in a lightning talk this morning at @asbmb.bsky.social and will be at poster 34 this afternoon to share more about his efforts to characterize a novel SNARE complex involved in AMPA receptor delivery during memory formation.

I’m looking to hire a research technician for my lab at Harvard & DFCI, who would primarily work in the wet lab expressing and characterizing designed proteins, starting this summer. A great role for a recent college grad looking for an immersive research experience before grad school.
Interested in the mechanisms of aging and 'rejuvenation'?
Our lab at Stanford has a Research Assistant/Lab manager position open!!
Apply and join our awesome team! 😎 (please share)

Very cool work in multiple structure alignment.
We have already used Foldseek to classify large BioEmu datasets, and I’m excited to try FoldMason to get even finer analysis of the conformational landscape of predicted protein structures.
Been hearing some horrifying chatter about dealing with the new #NIH common form and #ScienCV system, so I put together a short video with some tricks for mitigating some of those pain points.
Hope it helps? 🧪

It's that time of year again! I'm looking for suggestions of 'emerging' model organisms for my #CellBio course's final proj:

He’ll also present a poster. The abstract title is, “Computational Insights Into How SNAP-47 Adopts Pro- and Anti- Long-Term Potentiation (LTP) Conformations.”
ASBMB presenter schedule
I’m super excited that Ismar, a postbac in my lab, will be giving a lightning talk at ASBMB.
He’ll present work where he used computational approaches like AlphaFold, BioEmu, and MD to better understand the SNARE complex involved in AMPA receptor delivery during LTP.

Organelles do NOT have a single uniform pH.
And if you think they must, because “protons diffuse fast,” this paper is for you.
A thread on why that assumption is wrong; and what we found instead. 🧵 1/n
Our lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow. The position is intentionally broad, as we are looking for outstanding researchers from diverse scientific backgrounds to advance our understanding of cilia and ciliopathies: academicpositions.harvard.edu/postings/15526
I’m finally on Bluesky, and for my first post, I’ll show off the exciting work completed primarily by my postbac, Ismar.
This work-in-progress was presented at the @proteinsociety.bsky.social annual symposium this past summer.
