That is amazing! We have a small gaggle hiding in our museum holding letter tiles - they're a wee treasure hunt for visitors! πŸ’€
Mine may make it into the office yet...!

The Council of (sk)Elrond ran on far longer than intended after Mr Peregrin Took, of Tuckborough, lodged a planning application for a new Green Dragon Inn franchise location within the Rivendell Green Belt.

Fifteen (15) lego skeletons and a spare skeletom leg arranged in an arrowhead shape. Their cold, cheerful smiles haunt you.

The forensic anthropologist in me wishes for a touch extra anatomical detail, but the lego fan in me is very happy with my recent Bricks and Pieces acquisition.
Now to figure out what I'm going to do with them... πŸ˜‡

A suitably atmospheric day for the MSc Human Anatomy and MSc Clinical Anatomy students graduation 2023-24.
A little snow has caused travel CHAOS but very pleased to have made it in to support them!

This year's prizes are ready to go, including 3D printed boxes from the ATLAS facility, and pins, stickers and pens from Etsy.
Its a bit of a silly game - inspired by the Pokémon cartoon from the '90s - but it incentivises attendance and participation! Nice treat after 10 weeks hard work too..! 😊

This is penultinmate week of Semester 1 and classes are winding down. One of my favourite parts of this week is the end of our 'Who's That Bone' quiz, where my osteology students are asked to identify bones from blacked-out frames each week. We tote them up and the winners get a prize!

a man sitting on a bed with the words no clue written on the bottom Alt: a man - David from Schitt's Creek - sitting on a bed with the words 'No clue!' written on the bottom. He is gesticulating as if to say he does not know what is happening.

I have no idea what I'm going to use BlueSky for - probably a lot of random, irreverant posting - so bear with me!
I had a lot of fun with a series of skeleton etymology tweets back in the day, so may renew that and see how we get on!

Two GORGEOUS spaniels - one black, one copper-brown - in the boot of my car. They're just finished a walk with my wife, so harnesses are on and happy tongues are out.

I'm verbose and prone to typos - so enjoy! Outside of my academic roles I am a defacto nerd (Marvel > DC, currently DMing a digital Curse of Strahd campaign, and now on my 5th Stardew Valley farm) and dog-fanatic (spaniels are the Best Dogs and no-one will change my mind).

I also love playing with new educational tools and toys - I was an early adopter of Complete Anatomy in our teaching, and have (and am) working to develop digital teaching approaches within our team for radiography and histology.

I am developing a series of research projects looking at how we can incorporate 3D digital technology - including structured light scanning and FDM printing - in forensic anthropology, with a focus at the moment on reproducibility and accuracy of 3D scanning.
