It's almost like we had a movie series originally starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton that explicitly warned up about this.

Upon reflection, I'm not sure this is a cut so much as it is them adjusting the plot so she just basically never leaves unless you delayed doing the stuff to unlock Mervyn.

They also adjusted it so you can have more than 4 people in your party, just can only have 4 in combat. Others still gain XP.

I know Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined cut some parts out, but having Maribel leave my party and then rejoin again before I even leave town definitely makes you *feel* that things have been cut.

And double checking on the Dragon Quest wiki, that is indeed the case.

Started playing the Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined demo last night.

Started doing the same thing I do at the start of all classic RPGs... walk into everyone's houses and loot everything they own.

Lots of locked chests I couldn't open though.

OK, so that helps people who don't have a clan, but... the real cost of Dagath isn't getting the blueprints, but rather getting the vainthorns to craft them.
