Day 21

I'm still sick, but it's a gorgeous day, which reminded me how grateful I am for this mini garden.

It sits right outside my window, and looks after itself. I can see flowers from my bed, as well as birds looking for worms.

In a couple of months it'll be full of blooms

Oh that makes sense!! Yeah, there's nothing worse than thinking it means one thing and then finding out you had it all wrong.

I am pretty proficient in German and I still get thrown by things like that.

Language is so intricate, and as writers we know that a simple change here or there can have a massive impact.

But it's hard to know those nuances in a language without true fluency.

I love how I don't speak Dutch, but because I know English and German I can figure out what some of this says 😃

"The years went by and they got ___ ___ children ____ the queen finally said, "____ I ___ a witch go?"

Some words I cannot fathom, and I assume the verb goes earlier in that sentence.

Right?! 😋

Plus, I don't know how they do it, but the Co-op ones are just the best level of crunch, which is so satisfying!

I have a cold 😭 so I'm grateful that when I went to the Co-op to get lemon and honey for my tea, I found these on offer too ☺️

These are my favourite naughty little treat. Yes, they're cheaper to make, but on days like this I need the easiest option. And they're yummy 😋

Oh, it is awful! I not only get random smells, but Thea smells different (and unpleasant) to me whenever that happens too. Which seems particularly cruel.

Today I am really grateful for this massager. My back and shoulders are so tense and sore, and being able to slowly work at the muscles this way is so helpful. Even if it does hurt like fuck 😫

It is a truly wonderful series, isn't it? I am currently reading it for the second time. I need to read some more of Talia Hibbert's books.

OMG 😭 The Endo & Adeno cramps just hit with a bloody vengeance 😭

No wonder I have had an awful migraine since last night. Hormones are hormoning 😫

So now my head hurts, I'm dizzy, I have the worst cramps in my pelvis and lower back, and my legs feel like I ran up 2 flights of stairs!

I'm very unlucky with my health, and it is a constant battle to survive. But I'm also incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so many reminders of the people, stories, and support that keep me going. Especially on these particularly bad days.

- I'm able to chat with friends on WhatsApp and Discord, this has enabled me to build strong friendships over the years

- there are plants and flowers @lady_thea21 set up for me, so I can enjoy nature even from my bed

- the wall next to my bed is filled with artwork from things I love, including a GMM jigsaw, bookish related items from @aliceoseman.bsky.social, @chaoticauthor.online, @katheroony.bsky.social, @iliibra.bsky.social, @rorymichaelson.com, and @amweald.com, and postcards a friend sent me

- 5 years ago I was just starting to come out of severe ME/CFS back into moderate ME/CFS. For all my ups and downs, I am so grateful to no longer be in that severe category. I still have many days in bed. But I'm not stuck here almost constantly anymore.
