U.S. Judge says Kari Lake broke law in overseeing Voice of America
He declared all of Lake's actions over the past year to be null and void, including the layoffs of more than 1,000 journalists and staffers.
Friends! A US judge ruled that @KariLake has acted illegally - without proper legal authority - in running Voice of America and its federal parent agency.

Netflix Declines To Raise Offer To Buy Warner, Says Deal 'No Longer Financially Attractive'
Netflix is declining to raise its offer to buy Warner Bros. Discoveryβs studio and streaming business.
"Unlike Netflixβs bid, Paramount wants all of Warnerβs operations, including networks like CNN and Discovery.
That would put CNN under the same roof as Paramountβs CBS and combine two of Hollywoodβs last five remaining studios."

Some Quakertown student protesters released after days in custody
At least three of the arrested teens from Quakertown Community High School have been allowed to return home.
3 of the 5 Quakertown high school students arrested for anti-ICE walkout are free--after 4 days! Not sure about 2 others, who are accused of felony assault against the police chief--when it was the chief who actually attacked them, putting one girl in a chokehold! www.phillyburbs.com/story/news/2...

In 1954, Edward R. Murrow reminded us that disagreeing with those in power isnβt the same as being disloyal. He warned against letting fear take over & replacing evidence with accusations.
This is a call to courage. Freedom doesnβt protect itself.

During a diversity roundtable last month at the National Press Club, the Rev. Benjamin F. Chavis
Jr., president and CEO of the National Newspaper Publishers Association, gave shocking news on the
state of the Black press on the eve of its
bicentennial.
"We all have felt the damp hands of oppression and suppression over the last 12 months," said Chavis, whose trade association represents more
than 200 African American-owned community newspapers. "I'm going to be very honest: We've lost advertising revenue 80% over the last 12
months."
Even compared to the dire state of the newspaper business in general, Black newspapers in particular are getting fucking hammered.

The Fight Over US Climate Rules Is Just Beginning
As the EPA moves to roll back the endangerment finding, which allows it to regulate greenhouse gases, experts predict uncertainty for business and a protracted legal fight.
βI don't see any plan, any strategy, any end game,β says Pat Parenteau, a professor of environmental law at the University of Vermont. βI don't see anything from this administration, just fuck everything up as much as you can. You can print that.β
Sounds accurate to me.

Holy shit.
Abbe Lowell's argument that DOJ is not entitled to presumption of regularity in Don Lemon case consists of:
1) A page on irregularity in this case.
2) A page on irregularity in MN.
3) Other adverse rulings in MN.
4) One page plus TWO PAGE footnote on similar rulings nationally.
