"Get a federal grant" is a common - although often unwritten -expectation for tenure and promotion in science departments.
Every science department should start reviewing those tenure and promotion requirements IMMEDIATELY.
Departments can't review faculty as though it's "business as usual."
Has anybody heard of APPIC has made a comment on how NIH freeze might influence internship match (if at all?)

Per a source with knowledge, for all internal research (of which there is like $10 billion worth or so), ALL purchasing shut down as of yesterday.
That means gloves, reagents, anything involved with lab work, which means a lot of that work will stop.
Curious about the incremental validity of the treatment components.
Again, early career researchers will be disproportionately affected. Our salaries and positions overwhelmingly depend on grant funding. What are more senior folks planning to do to support us during the unprecedented rollback of these mechanisms?
