If you're looking for a much more coherent #metoo movie, consider Ridley Scott's "The Last Duel." It's his most underrated film!

The Bride isnt pretentious. Its ok to be experimental, to have ideas, to be abstract & leave things unexplained! What it is is contrived: characters do things because the plot needs them to, not because it makes sense for them to have acted so. An ambitious disappointment (solid cinematography tho!)
These submariners should be ashamed of themselves. Absolutely pathetic and cowardly conduct. craft.org/sinking-iran-ship-war-crime/
Pretty sure it's Iranians, first and foremost, who will be paying the highest price, you little political bedbug!
Imma just throw out there that I don't care either that Iran's gov't is still in power or that US soldiers have died. I care that every law and check on the books has been violated in the name of fighting a Christo-fascist war of aggression. As a member of Congress, I'd think you'd care about that..
When you say service member, but our government is fighting a war on behalf of a third party (so-called ally), to whom are these soldiers really rendering service?
We're doing a pretty good job of creating our very own Sicilian Expedition, at least!
Glad she's satisfied by the deaths of dozens of children, I guess?
The Last Duel
Not sure anything will bum me out like Furiosa did when I saw it in theaters. Sitting down with such high expectations, only to realize that that the whole movie was going to have that greenscreen sheen to it, was the beginning of a two hour odyssey of supreme disappointment and frustration! ๐ญ
What is UAW doing to stop the Big Three from continuing to flood our streets with massive and unsafe (but immensely profitable) SUVs and pick-ups?
In his defense, he was already busy with an amplified war in Afghanistan and broadened operations across large sections of Africa!

I guess it makes some sense for the birthplace of Puritanism to have remained somewhat more puritan than continental Europe ๐คฃ
"This one's a real slap shot of a movie. An agricultural play. A smash (as they say in tennis). Its DPS is through the roof!" (Variety, give me a job)
I'd love you guys to watch Night of the Hunter together! The preacher is just a walking personification of right-wing sexuality ๐ฌ
This could *theoretically* even be a winning issue among (more reasonable) cultural conservatives. "Hollywood is too big and powerful! It's ruining the country!" Ok great, let's break up the conglomerates and allow many smaller companies to produce content, competing with each other again!
This is a particular kind of anti-fatness that shows up on the left: the "hold corporations accountable for creating fat people" stuff.
Yes absolutely, corporate accountability across the board, within & beyond food industries. Just stop mobilizing animus against fat people to make your point.
Today in the New York Times: "Mean criticism is just as bad as the state attacking your very being, maybe even worse," co-written by an aging economist and an ICBM

Finally that deep dive into the depiction of the Korean War in US cinema that we've all been clamoring for! #PorkChopHill
I'm watching the new season of "The Pitt" and medical AI comes up a lot (faster documentation, woo!) So far they've critiqued its accuracy and its use by admin as a way to cut staffing further. I hope they address the inevitable data breaches that will occur with these 3rd party ghouls!
Volkswagen workers in Tennessee make history with first UAW contract.
#UnionStrong
Why does anyone watch any state of the union speech? It's just several hours of "My admin is great." They're all boring trash only useful decades later when historians are trying to piece together what presidents wanted people to think...

Someone needs to develop a diagnostic scale with numerical values attached to various political positions and a threshold for determining whether someone meets standards for being a progressive, ala the Morse Fall Scale. That way we can all show our work in these debates! (Numbers solve everything!)
Nazi Germany won 101 medals in the 1936 Olympics, dominating the event. I wonder if there's any footage of German athletes partying it up with Heinrich Himmler or Wilhelm Frick...
Given the administration's growing disregard for legal precedent or ruling, what good does the application of legal logics and mechanisms really do here? When your opponent is deliberately illiterate, of what use is a constitution?
