Historical fiction is my favorite read. Hourly worker in Silicon Valley US making same wage as 40 years ago. Want a different/new/young/fun/creative Dem party. Hear to learn and grow. (that is not a spelling error)

Who are you quoting? Jonathan V. Last, or Talarico?

I just finished this book and *really* enjoyed it. Such a wonderful blend of space exploration, and the value of childhood mentors like Mr. Cooper.

Nobody has "chosen" him, plus I have never believed he is actually running anyway. I believe he's out there to take the initial hits away from whoever is really planning to run, and to keep spiky policy conversations going and expose all of the issues. He's very good at that.

I agree it's harder, but not much for sadists like them. In the book Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford (historical fiction) in the Minidoka Internment Camp in Idaho the prisoners had to build much of the camp infrastructure themselves.

I would not buy a home in a community or near land where human beings are being kept in such conditions. If nothing else, this will absolutely ruin the value of local property, so may locals (and we) protest effectively.

I believe Manzanar and similar past U.S. detention prisons were out in the middle of nowhere, desolate, out of the public eye. We don't want that next-step either.

"they will have a different role" other than killing, entering homes of people, and signing their own permission slips. I hope Italy quarantines those American basement-dwelling woman-hating ICE agents

Pardon power needs to be reexamined. Crime victims' restitution should not be taken away in the pardon of a perp, the debt is certainly still owed.

"Hilton, the British-born political commentator who moved to California in 2012" has no standing, thinking he can run the State of California with so little lived experience or understanding of the variety of California cultures.

Excellent story. Rishi Kumar does not know right from wrong. And he keeps plaguing our region with his strange and wide-ranging ambitions.

Republicans must stage an intervention with Trump, now! January 20, 2026

If Republicans retain any vestigial memories of principle or patriotism, now would be a good time for them to act on distant memories of duty and honor to save America. Trump is embarrassing a great nation and endangering global security to assuage his fragile yet monstrous ego.
