There is nothing that is good for Black women that isn't also good for everyone else. Talking to Black women voters is talking to all voters. The other voters need to look past their misogynoir.

Men spend so much time fantasizing about improbable, dire situations where we must be brave or protect someone that we drop the ball on the normal, everyday things that require bravery, discipline etc. You got all the guns to protect against a hypothetical intruder but wont vote for women's rights.

But at 50, that ship has left the dock. It's actually...OK? In my wistful moments, I recognize that I'm wistful of a vision in my head v. whatever reality may have turned out to be.

You may have seen me discuss not being able to have kids. The weirdest thing about that has been realizing how self-indulgent my reasons for wanting them were. Ironically, that self-discovery might have made me a better mom. 1/2
