For almost 2 years, the claim of mass aid diversion by Hamas has been the pretext for Israel's illegal policy of obstructing & restricting aid to Gaza.
It was never plausible.
Now, as deaths from starvation mount, senior Israeli military officials admit that it was a lie.

The idea of (non forced) "voluntary displacement" of Palestinians is absurd
- no factual evidence that any/some/many want to be resettled
- 2 million people do not have homogenous preferences π€―π€―π€―
- "forced" does not have to mean bombed out of their houses

If the reaction of your gov is, "we wait for the ICJ - other courts - to rule on genocide", your gov is not discharging its prevention duty under the Genocide Convention. Govs must develop processes & criteria to assess genocide risk concurrently, not in 10 years.
What does it mean for a STATE to have genocidal intent? (1) The archetype is an official policy to destroy a group, authored by political and military leaders, systematically implemented β a clear cut but not that common instantiation of state intent.
