I don't take many bird pics, because I don't have the long lenses needed for good photos. In the spring of 2020, a pair of barred owls nested in the woods behind my house, and were often active during the day. Sometimes they let me get close enough for pics.

One of my older flower watercolours, sold a long time ago. Poppies, nettles and Macleaya cordata leaves in a glass jug.

Oriental poppies, nettles and Macleaya cordata leaves, watercolour. I wonder if that Macleaya (plume poppy) will come up this year? It often disappears for a while and then pops up again. It's a lovely plant, not particularly invasive.

I took this picture 6yrs ago today. I was walking to the train and caught this sunrise over my town hall in suburban NJ.

It also happened to be the last day I would commute into the city, as I decided to stop coming in bc of covid.

Green clusters of clinochlore on quartz crystals. The location given is how Mindat lists it. This is not from the main quartz collecting area but from a small roadcut some distance up the road from the quartz area. These must be etched out of calcite filling the cavities in the rock.
