Agreed - There's no point being the big-tent party if the opening is too narrow. We're all at different places in our social awareness; we have different cultural understandings and perceptions of what is acceptable.

We can't keep tailoring our standards to the narrowest interpretation available.

I'm torn btwn being bothered that people would celebrate the death of a person and completely understanding why they feel justified in mocking this.

I wonder if the lack of empathy has sent the message to healthcare companies that people shouldn't have to lose their livelihood to save their lives.

I don't know what the future holds for Syria - their liberators include some extraordinarily questionable groups who claim to have reformed - we will see.

But tonight many Syrians are resting better than they have their entire lives, and many wake only to continue dreaming about what is possible.
