WTF. Their Tagline:
"Stop stressing. Start acing.
Einstein does the busywork so you don't have to."
*You* aren't acing anything. And the βbusyworkβ? You mean the coursework. It just does the coursework.
This book, by the great Sven Nyholm, is out next month, but you can see the TOC and Intro here right now!: hackettpublishing.com/the-ethics-o...
Great for those just starting out with the ethics of AI, and for early-level courses that include the subject. #AI

Woot!
"This is a priority for him because these past thinkers βcan still adversely impact how we view the political landscape today.β In light of this admission, one is naturally very interested to hear his answer to Leo Strauss's famous question, "What is political philosophy?"
"Farrelly (Queen's Univ., Canada) explains that when canvassing the concerns of the thinkers of the past, he pays special attention βto their cognitive blind spots, problematic assumptions (e.g., prejudice) and glaring omissions in their theorizing about the problems of their time.β

Two pictures of gold sparkle drum set I played
Had a lot of fun playing with the band last night at Deep Cuts in Boston (ok, Medford), opening for J Robbins Band playing Burning Airlines material. Thanks to friends who came out to see the show! This is the beautiful kit I played, borrowed from Pete, the J Robbins drummer.
What's involved with Hackett's new 2 volume set of Aristotle's Complete Works, you ask? www.thenationalherald.com/this-century...
A nice piece about one of my authors and their Hackett social media ethics book www.alma.edu/news/alma-co...
I agree with the general sentiment, but please bear in mind employee-owned companies like Hackett and Norton, who aren't university presses, but offer high quality books at very reasonable prices! (Disclosure: I am the Publisher at Hackett).
Also wondering if there's a German word for when you see something that could go wrong if you don't address the issue, you don't address the issue, and then in short order exactly what you'd feared happens. Like breaking electronics by leaving plugged in with clear danger of tripping over the cord.
One of the conference attendees is not like the others

Come by the Hackett table in the networking area, exhibit hall A, all day today and tomorrow. Ask me about our new medical ethics text, get a free exam copy if teaching a relevant course, or order a print or ebook copy for yourself! @hackettpub.bsky.social
We might say the sound of a baby's laugh is beautiful, but not that it's gorgeous, but some cases seem to work: singers with gorgeous voices, instruments that sound gorgeous, etc.
Jesus, I dare not even begin. That said, I did score tickets to the 2026 tour... π
Also seems false in my experience attending various philosophy conferences. Maybe my judgment is off because it's *definitely* less homogenous than it used to be, and I'm mainly noticing that difference.
π"This is an excellent introduction to applied epistemology. By engaging with vivid, real-world cases, Barnes grapples with pressing questions posed by expertise, disagreement, propaganda, artificial intelligence, and more. Highly recommended." βHrishikesh Joshi hackettpublishing.com/applied-epis...

The reviewer, Jason Miller, says a lot more too, both suggestive and laudatory! See the Journal of Aesthetic Education, Vol. 59, No. 3, Fall 2025.
Review: "Carroll deftly guides his readers through the writings of Plato, Aristotle, Hutcheson, Hume, Kant, Hegel, Schopenhauer, Tolstoy, all the way to Clive Bell, making a powerful case along the way for the enduring legacy of each in the philosophy of art." hackettpublishing.com/classics-in-...
An image from Amazon showing that The Hackett Introduction to Medical Ethics is the number one new release in the field.
Weβre number one! Number one new release in medical ethics, that is (ok, it doesnβt mean much and wonβt last, but weβll take it while we can get it!).
Billionaire Daniel Lubetzky recommends reading classical Greek philosophy to get an edge in the AI era. Who am I to disagree? Better order your Plato and Aristotle while you can! Hackett has your back. www.msn.com/en-us/news/t...
