those were the best analog photos I had taken so far. we've had an absolutely gorgeous fall, and I made the most of it by having two weeks off and taking the camera everywhere I went. I'm never ever getting those pictures now.

really working hard on not letting that put me off the whole hobby tbh

so. tomorrow I'll be leaving just under 50€ at my little local lab instead. but hopefully I'll at least get some pictures out of it for that

I've had a few days to process the grief I feel for the film that's been irretrievably destroyed by an anonymous drug store lab but I'm still not over it

taking two more rolls of film to the lab tomorrow.

I had one from october that I was very excited about, but because I'm not made of money I decided to send it to a mass processing lab. and they Fucking Destroyed It. I received two little shreds of the negatives and not a single picture. for 5€ :)

got a bit stressed today so i did some ink washes and then got funky with it

there's this light leak that I get sometimes - usually not this intense, but it has showed up in some pictures (the chair at the lake, my brother's dog, a few unposted ones), and if it does, it's always in the same place.

I think it happens when I take too long switching lenses outside. oops 😬

it's been truly so good for me to let myself play around with different arts and crafts again

after posting those photos to tumblr first I am really feeling the difference in post format (up to 30 pictures per tumblr post with several arrangement options incl. full post width images vs. 4 images on here with significant cropping that makes me reluctant to post more than two at a time)

we are now into my second roll of film and this time while editing the scans I looked at the og prints for color reference (much warmer!)

this is still the same lake, same day. I changed the roll (my first time doing that) on a bench watched by geese and it's kind of a miracle that I did it right

I had this moment one saturday evening where I decided that the best use of a sunday off would be to wake up at 5:30 and go to some random lake that I had picked out on google maps the night before and take pictures at sunrise.

I did not regret this decision and may do it again tbh
