film photograph of a male eurasian blackbird sitting in a nearly-leafless tree against a grey sky. it is photographed from below the tree, looking up at the bird, and the bird is looking back down at the camera.
a blackbird sitting in a big tree, half obscured by its needly branches. the silhouette of its round body and sharp beak stands out in a gap between them.
a blackbird sits in a garden shrub - nearly but not fully on top of it, it looks a little like it has been hiding behind it and is now looking up to inspect the camera.
blackbirds!

film photograph of a road surrounded by trees. the surface is patchy and we can't see where it curves off to. the atmosphere is very gloomy; the background is obscured by heavy fog that just barely lets a few spindly trees peek through.
oop forgot to post over here again, I've got some things from late last year
like this one that I scrambled to get from the passenger seat of a moving car

those were the best analog photos I had taken so far. we've had an absolutely gorgeous fall, and I made the most of it by having two weeks off and taking the camera everywhere I went. I'm never ever getting those pictures now.
really working hard on not letting that put me off the whole hobby tbh

so. tomorrow I'll be leaving just under 50β¬ at my little local lab instead. but hopefully I'll at least get some pictures out of it for that
I've had a few days to process the grief I feel for the film that's been irretrievably destroyed by an anonymous drug store lab but I'm still not over it

taking two more rolls of film to the lab tomorrow.
I had one from october that I was very excited about, but because I'm not made of money I decided to send it to a mass processing lab. and they Fucking Destroyed It. I received two little shreds of the negatives and not a single picture. for 5β¬ :)

three drawings on different pieces of paper. the first is a small rectangle with a green background onto which celtic spiral motifs have been drawn in a blue ink. the second is a page with a green wash on which darker ink has been drawn in a rectangle, but leaving a celtic labyrinth in the middle. the last is a page washed in greens and purples on which a flower, some leaves and a shooting bud are drawn, all with their roots showing
two thin rectangular drawings. the first is on a sheet with a light green wash, it has a stylised swan drawn on it, boxed in awkwardly by the confines of the page. the second is is a page washed in blue that has a negative space bird flying upward towards two stars.
got a bit stressed today so i did some ink washes and then got funky with it

film photograph of an apple on the ground with a slug on top of it. right where the apple and the slug are, a light leak has tinted the image a fiery yellow-red gradient.
there's this light leak that I get sometimes - usually not this intense, but it has showed up in some pictures (the chair at the lake, my brother's dog, a few unposted ones), and if it does, it's always in the same place.
I think it happens when I take too long switching lenses outside. oops π¬

film photograph of a curtain of leaves draped over a thick concrete wall, nearly obscuring all of it, except for a corner that has been tagged with various graffiti. the leaves vary spectacularly in color from light and dark green to yellow, bright red, and maroon.
a tram station under a bridge closely surrounded - nearly overgrown - by trees and shrubs. graffiti decorates the walls of the station. the silhouettes of waiting people can be just barely made out in the shadow of the bridge. the red metal of the railings and street lights at the station contrasts with the green plants.
a railway crossing over a footpath at the edge of a park. the signage has been plastered over with various stickers and graffiti. the railway crossing sign, a parked bicycle, a car in the background, and graffiti on a metal wall behind the tracks all stand out in red against the trees and grass.
something about reds and greens and the interplay of city and nature

a house-shaped wooden bird feeder stands between garden shrubs in light rain. the sparrow occupying it has just chased off a second sparrow, captured mid-flight away from the house.
this may be my favorite so far.
I *finally* had some birds in the bird feeder while I was looking and I very nearly missed my train for it

film photograph of the top of a blackberry bush next to an oak branch. the still ripening red berries stand out against the green foliage.

photo of a dog standing in a grassy field. she is an australian shepherd border collie mix, a fluffy medium sized dog with spotted grey-brown fur and semi-floppy triangular ears. a small light leak on the film has given the image a bright spot that complements the late afternoon lighting.
close-up photo of the same dog. she is looking up above the camera with an eager expression. only her snout is in focus.
here are some very lucky shots of my brother's dog

after posting those photos to tumblr first I am really feeling the difference in post format (up to 30 pictures per tumblr post with several arrangement options incl. full post width images vs. 4 images on here with significant cropping that makes me reluctant to post more than two at a time)

alternate angle of the half-sunken wooden pavilion, now viewed much closer, framed by a tree and tall grass in the foreground.
a simple white plastic lawn chair at the edge of the lake, backlit in the sunrise.
last ones from this day at the lake.
this little partially sunken pavilion really fascinated me. I don't know what its story is.
also to get that chair photo I had to contort around a handrail crouching on some stone stairs and hold a plant out of the way with one hand so you're welcome

a canada goose taking a sip from the lake. it is silhouetted against the bright surface of the water. little circular ripples emerge from its beak.

photo of a leafy tree branch in front of a lake. it is early fall, the leaves of the trees in the background are just starting to turn yellow, and the light of the rising sun is casting a warm glow onto them.
a wooden pavillion near the edge of a forest lake, partially sunken into the water with a noticeable tilt. a duck is flying past the camera in the foreground.
we are now into my second roll of film and this time while editing the scans I looked at the og prints for color reference (much warmer!)
this is still the same lake, same day. I changed the roll (my first time doing that) on a bench watched by geese and it's kind of a miracle that I did it right

a goose stands on one leg at the edge of a lake, surrounded by a few ducks. the scene is dark, with the goose silhouetted against the dusk light reflected on the surface of the water.
a cluster of trees, just starting to turn autumn colors, on the far side of a lake. half the picture is taken up by the reflection of the trees in the water.
two geese on a lake shore, one with its beak to the ground, the other with its head up, side-eyeing the camera.
a wooden pavilion that may once have stood at the shore of a lake, or on a boardwalk, is now partially submerged a good ways into the lake with a noticeable tilt. it is framed by tree branches in the foreground.
I had this moment one saturday evening where I decided that the best use of a sunday off would be to wake up at 5:30 and go to some random lake that I had picked out on google maps the night before and take pictures at sunrise.
I did not regret this decision and may do it again tbh

a woman with long red hair and a green hoodie standing at the edge of a lush green meadow, looking away from the camera. in her field of view are a few houses, three wind turbines, and forested hills in the far distance.
a house-shaped bird feeder standing in a ray of sunlight. there are no birds in it.
speaking of my mother: this is her :]
(I won't post pictures of people without their consent, so you'll be missing out on some good ones, but she gave it for this one)
also my parents' bird feeder that I camped in front of for like 90 minutes with a tele lens, but the birds remained elusive

a flock of brown ducks resting in the grass next to a pond.
a tree growing next to, and into, a pond. it's growing nearly sideways and its branches touch the surface of the water, being reflected back in it.
a duck swimming on a pond, cleaning its feathers with its bill.
I'm shooting on a Yashica FR I that I borrowed from my mother.
until stated otherwise, these are on Kodak Gold 200, but my editing of the scans got better by the second roll (I was too cautious with color correction the first go around, but am going to leave them as they are now)

analog photo of a ceramic sculpture peeking out between two bushes. it is a stylized head made out of dishware shards and mosaic tiles, with a long teapot spout as its nose, one dangly earring (the ear is a cup handle), and a little ceramic bird on its hat.
plants on the side of a path, with the focus on a spindly plant with white flowers.
