Then again I got the fan-service vibe from the show after season one. Once it touched the main continuity the show was trapped in its web.

The problem for me was its, “Look at all our continuity and Easter eggs! This is what people want!” vibe but sadly they’re right. It’s what people want. Explanation over all. The gaps must be filled. No wonder just Wookiepedia.
