Britain has gained a new butterfly!

The long-anticipated arrival of Southern Small White (Pieris mannii) has been confirmed.

This Small White shows uneven grey dusting, in Southern Small White this would be equal both sides.

With all the excitement about Southern Small Whites, I thought I’d go through some of my close contenders.

I believe the dark patch extends to the 4th vein.

One of the things I care about with my photography is making an image of a subject as it is, telling that story. For me, altering the subject and its environment is akin to airbrushing nature. I think we need to love real more; ourselves and the world.
