On a day @lincolncityfc.bsky.social set a new club record (20) for Football League matches without defeat, Conor McGrandles made his 150 FL start for the Imps and a substitute scored for the 13th (equalling the club record) time a further record may have been set

Gainsborough Trinity Who’s Who

The Football League Years 1896 to 1912

Authors: Garth Dykes & Gary Parle

ISBN 978-1-911376-27-9

Price Β£14

Paperback 246 x 189mm

90 pages

Gainsborough Trinity continued in competitive football after leaving the Football League in 1912. Now in the Northern Premier League, they have played on the same ground, Northolme, since 1888. The club had the unusual record of 'never relegated' until 2018, though we should note that they had changed leagues on several occasions. One of these changes took them from the Midland League to the Football League Division Two in 1896. In 1912 they were voted out of the League and rejoined the Midland League.

Gary Parle's opening chapter in the book describes the ups and downs of the life of a small club in the Football League. Garth Dykes has contributed details biographies of all the players used in the club’s Football League years. Garth is an acknowledged expert on Football League players prior to 1950. His published work has covered clubs from the very large (Manchester United) to the very small (Colne).

Copies of the book are available by post from Tony Brown at 4 Adrian Close, Nottingham NG9 6FL and can be ordered on his www.soccerdata.com website. It will also appear on Amazon and in the catalogues of leading sports booksellers. If ordering from Tony, please make a cheque payable to Tony Brown and include postage and packing; Β£2.00 for UK orders, Β£6 for the rest of Europe, or Β£12 for the rest of the world). Paypal payments can be made on soccerdata.com

It's a little ironic that having contributed to the Imps programmes, websites, various books, fanzines and Impress that the first time I'm credited as a co author is on a book about another club! Order details on ALT and I do have a few copies if anyone is interested

Getting in at 3am and going to work later wasn't one of my better ideas but the 3 points for @lincolncityfc.bsky.social helped. George Wickens joined a select group of Imps Football League goalkeepers with his (helped by the other players of course) clean sheet.

It was therefore sad to see former groundsman Phil Kime post elsewhere on social media about the passing of another former holder of that position Barry Clements.

@lincolncityfc.bsky.social have usually been regarded as having one of the best pitches in the Football League. In 1945 it was reported Sincil Bank has one one of the finest pitches in the country although under a certain ex manager during the 1990's that may not have been so!

February 4th 2026 sees the end of Clive Nates outstanding reign as chairman of @lincolncityfc.bsky.social as he hands over to Ron Fowler. It wasn't known at the time but back in 1961 Feb 4th also saw the end of an era for a Lincoln City playing legend.

@lincolncityfc.bsky.social 1-0 win at Wigan saw Michael Skubala become just the 11th Imps manager to reach 20 away wins in regular season Football League matches. He has reached the figure in the 2nd fewest number of games.

3/3 Finlay Barbrook became the 19th Imp since our return to the Football League in 2017 to make an appearance in either the FA Cup, Football League Cup or EFL Trophy but not in the Football League. In our previous 104 Football League seasons only 11 players did so.
