It's all down to mismanagement at the top. Our owners obviously didn't think we could be relegated before the season started. They then did a panic shopping spree at the end of August followed by another splurge in January. Now we have a squad that works but it's too late.
We're playing really, really well right well. At the same time, we are in a tough spot because for five months, we were horrendous. It's an odd position to be in. It's fun to watch us play, but there's still a sense of doom hovering above us.
The amazing thing is that when we had our best chances, we couldn't get a shot off.

...My fairly mundane take is while the Fourth Round might be a disappointment, I don't think the Third Round was any better. It's possible the Third Round was more of a bust. I'm genuinely stunned at some of the sites and mechanisms in Third Round plans that were ultimately certified.
...so I don't know how many potentially food projects that are being created through the process. It's particularly tough for me because developers pay us to challenge the most vulnerable plans. Hence, I tend to look at the really bad ones...
Well, tbh, I have no idea. There have been some cases of towns skating by, but then I have come across a bunch of places whose Fourth Round plans contain a lot of sites, where plans have already been approved by the Planning Board...
The outrage over this reminds me of 2022 when trans activists were furious at David Weigel for reporting about Republican plans to run against pro-trans policies. Like, if you're a trans person or activist, then you should know what's coming down the pike, so you can prepare accordingly.
