As someone who spent every day trying to protect my community from ICE, to the point where I was personally assaulted, I’m so disappointed Mayor Frey vetoed this bare-minimum policy that would show that he could move beyond cuss words & take real action to provide material support for our neighbors.
I’m proud that the City Council can say we did everything in our power to give our neighbors more time to stay in their homes after they were forced to hide for months from the federal government.
History will look back on the leaders of Minneapolis and what they did to stand up for our residents during and after Trump’s invasion of our city.

I honestly expect more backtracking maybe even on a good deal of it as they talk to their lawyers and negotiate with whoever's doing this more, but some things like incest/noncon kink content etc. I don't expect to see walked back cuz that's what's often directly in the crosshairs of these groups
the backtracking is an either/or/and of reacting to community backlash or hearing back from their lawyers that they can't be sued for that type of content / that content wasn't in the demands
honeslty my subscribestar theory is that something similar to what happened to itch happened: they got some very scary emails that essentially threatened to shut down their entire buisness if they don't change their policies right this second and then they panicked
