The going merry has been shrunk down and now has a Yoshi head as the figurehead with Mario at the front of the ship, he is dressed as Luffy in an excited pose ready for adventure. Toad has elements of Tony Tony Chopper and is fishing a giant Cheep Cheep. There is also a Goonie bird from Yoshi Island dressed as a the News Coo.

i feel like TOS is the only big outlier when it comes to uniform stark differences. there was a clear attempt by the movies to make star trek look less "cheap" like the original series did, but from nextgen on things are fairly consistent
