In my country, Colombia, where more than 60 Indigenous languages are spoken, this topic is still unfortunately largely ignored. I look forward to learning how to change perspectives on meaningful research on endangered languages and how to support them.

Today I attended the one lecture on opportunities and obstacles in the career entry for refugee professionals in Germany at @uni-hamburg.de

#OTD 98 years ago, William Labov (1927-2024) was born 🥳 He was a pioneering sociolinguist studying language variation, dialectology, but also AAVE. In 1966, Labov published his landmark study "The Social Stratification of English in New York City".

Life lately.

Exciting new job ⚓️ and onboarding , wrapping up my MAs thesis, traveling, following my favorite musician, all in 4 days.

A part of me was lowkey hoping it had ended up being 🪑 while I was reading this.
