30 years ago we didn't have despot billionaires who buy politicians. We didn't have datacenters that sucked up resources from the surrounding communities. They don't create jobs, btw.
Things change in 30 yrs. I'm a former datacenter architect for a Fortune 20 corporation, so I've seen some things.
Had Trump not fired US CTO Megan Smith his very first day in office in 2017, we'd be in a lot better shape. But she is a brilliant technologist as well as a decent human. He can't handle being around a woman like that.

What about a flat tax rate - for yearly income and for yearly capital gains with NO LOOPHOLES. Significant penalties for anyone who avoids taxes. Obviously, you'd have to start this above some poverty income level.
