I love the screen transition effect!

I think Iβve been underestimating the permanence of damage
if you could spare any strategy tips they'd be much appreciated, I'm stuck in sub 20 land lmao
it goes so hard
also, joule thief is very good
im kind of into how insistent it is lol
I'd love to see where you take it if you pick it back up! I find cellular automata kind of awe-inspiring and it was sick to get to explore them this way
It does seem a lot more opaque and mysterious, just from the screenshots. I'm really enjoying how much they would switch things up between sequels in this era. Excited to give it a go once #2 is polished off!
Has a very lovely atmosphere with the generative audio too, I really like it!!
Funnily enough, this is also one of the most evocative "wizard" games I've played. You begin astray in a world with rules that are internally consistent but completely opaque. Through careful study you can begin to find patterns and structures in the world that can be guided towards your own ends.
Because the rules are simpler, and they iterate through space instead of time, you get this nice sweet spot of understanding. You can flip a tile with a solid grasp of what it's going to do locally, but still see many unexpected surprises downstream.
I've seen a few attempts at making games from cellular automata. Most of them use the game of life as a starting point and end up pretty unruly.
RULE 255 for #7DRL opts for the simpler 1D automata, and it works out really well!

ive been playing solomons key 2 this week and its like a remarkable design
i havenβt played the first one, is it worth checking out?
ive been tryna beat #ufo50 bushido ball for like 6 months. just learned that every character has a second ability then beat it on my second try
im completely humiliated
congrats on getting it done!! cant wait to give it a go ((:
if im understanding the movie correctly thereβs absolute nothing wrong with being in a whiplash era, right?
this week I had a (small) moped crash and did some of my favourite design work, could this be my whiplash era?
Played another @abhisundu.bsky.social game today, Putrid Ultra Shot! Itβs a very hectic kind of fun. Heβs got such a good eye for low fidelity effects and game feel, its so stylish!!
Hey, thank you!! Have just seen how much cool stuff youβve got on itch, gonna play through some today ((:
im also deeply in debt to my pillow but im so pumped to try this in the morning!! congrats on getting it finished
I'm not much of a pixel artist but I was really happy with how the key art for Loose Ties came out!
#aseprite and #pico8, the yin and yang of nice software
my #7DRL #pico8 entry has been submitted!!
Loose Ties is a tactical deduction game about figuring out who is at the party. Might just be the post-jam adrenaline, but I think its the most interesting little game I've made.
Its up on itch for free right now (:
I feel the exact same! Sticking to the roguelike constraints has pushed it in some really fun directions though
this looks incredible!!
my #7DRL entry is like a single player hidden role game and (surprise surprise) it has the same onboarding issues as mafia, werewolf, etc.
you need to hold all of the roles in your head to play well, and thats just so much info to convey before even starting.
gonna try smooth it over tomorrow!
seeing the amorphous blobs in your mind solidify on the page is really satisfying
your only options in life are dance or think, choose wisely
if you need a lil attention at the party you can dance to pull the other guests towards you πΊ
