It’s that creative <-> business divide thing. Freelancers, by the nature of running their own business, can be more informed of the realities therein than many of the in-house folks they work with who have been employees their entire careers.

To be fair (and not to undermine your overall point) you can work in game dev for decades and have picked up some understanding of audio through collaboration and osmosis, and still know SFA about running a business.

ASTRO BOT - ASTRO BOT Vinyl Soundtrack Kenneth C M Young's galaxy-trotting ASTRO BOT soundtrack has arrived on vinyl! This 2LP set includes 30 tracks from the game, wrapped up in gatefold packaging covered in all-new art by Nina Matsumoto.

Fangamer have just released a 30 track Astro Bot OST on vinyl!

It’s obviously not everything from the digital OST, but we squeezed a lot on to two discs with an emphasis on tracks that haven’t appeared on vinyl before 👍

It wasn’t too bad and the life upgrade made it well worth it! The only scary part for me is pulling leads out of sockets - even with tweezers I’m paranoid I’m going to pull the socket off of the PCB 🙈

A PlayStation 4’s CPU all shiny looking after removing its old thermal paste prior to replacement

After years of cursing the PS4’s fan noise, today I finally got around to giving its innards a clean and replacing the CPU’s thermal paste. Now the kids can watch Bluey without having to turn the telly right up just to hear it above the PS4’s din 😀
