Big thanks, Jamie!
Delighted to hear that WOLFWALKERS (script by @willcollins.bsky.social, directed by @tommcartooner.bsky.social & #RossStewart is getting a limited cinema re-release (in selected cinemas): variety.com/2025/film/ne...
Thank you @jamiedotdotdot.bsky.social! At long last, we've got enough juicy Predator films to warrant an honest-to-goodness ranking debate. Have a listen and have your say.

Brand new episode out. We discuss our favourite horror films of the last twenty-five years, pick our favourite horror villains, and then list our top three TV scares. www.bestbitspodcast.com/screen-play
For those looking for some horror recommendations, we did a whole month of podcasts not long ago on The Best Bits. They're all collected here and free to listen to on our Patreon. We have some great special guests too. www.patreon.com/collection/1...
I used to stare at his art on the covers of videotapes in the library, imagining the adventures inside and debating how to spend my precious pound. Drew Struzan captured the magic of cinema like no one else. His posters didnβt just sell films, they embodied them. A giant of movie art has left us.

π£ Our second episode is out now. All about Robert Redford movies we love. That's the post. Short and sweet. Give us a listen, why don't you? Ah, do. linktr.ee/screenplaypod
In more positive posts, myself and my podcast wife @willcollins.bsky.social had a good time talking about our favourite Robert Redford films for the next episode of Screen, Play out on Monday. Podcasting with him keeps me sane. I hope you'll give it a listen. linktr.ee/screenplaypod
We have a new podcast! If you liked The Best Bits, youβll love SCREEN, PLAY. Itβs still Kevin and me, still talking movies, still trying to make each other laugh.
And if you enjoy it, a rating or review would mean the world (and help other lovely film nerds like you find us).
We are gently easing back into podcasting and uploading video episodes to our Patreon. A brand new show from us should be arriving in June, but for now, weβre testing the waters with bonus shows where you can marvel at our big Irish heads. www.patreon.com/c/screenplay...
The final episode of The Best Bits is a big hug to the podcast that deepened my love for cinema and made me cherish it even more. What a journey it has been... However, all good things...
Brand new episode out now! With some big news about the podcast for our upcoming 75th ep near the end. Have a listen and if you can, weβd love a share!
I've abandoned all other social media but still keep my accounts for rare professional announcements. Like AI, you can sense the AI slop at a glance. So, it's reassuring that my Bluesky feed evokes a happier time, when all we had to worry about was a few wars and total financial catastrophe.
That lasted all of five minutes. #TheTraitors
David Lynch was a dream master. I cannot recommend his books, ROOM TO DREAM and CATCHING THE BIG FISH, highly enough. His films speak for themselves. It's about time I restarted my Twin Peaks marathon.
UPDATED: Itβs out NOW!
A lovely chat with @kevinlehane.com about #TheDamnedMovie that goes deep on craft and the writing process in general.

This is my local community hall, Leghowney Hall, in full flow for its Xmas market. When the world feels like it's going to hell on a handbasket, sharing breakfast while listening to Bing Crosby croon White Christmas makes everything feel alright.

The Day the Earth Blew Up is delightful, zany fun. It's Looney Toones meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers via Roger Rabbit. My 10-year-old declared it one of the best films heβs ever seen. More of these plead WB. Maybe Coyote v. Acme, eh? Anyways, Bravo to all the creators!
Our podcast cousins! Give them a follow.
Hello, new followers! We're Will & Kev, two working screenwriters from Ireland. One of us won a BAFTA; the other lost out on a Razzie. We do a bi-monthly podcast on random film themes. Our last ep was Kill Scenes, and our next one out Wednesday is on Road Movies! You can find us in all podcast apps!
The passing of Jon Kenny is very sad news. I was lucky enough to work with him on Song of the Sea and Wolfwalkers. Everyone knew he was a fantastic comedian, musican and actor (he was execptional as the Bull McCabe on stage); he was also a gentleman, a sweet man and will be greatly missed. RIP Jon
Since Conan is hosting the Oscars, could Saoirse and Cillian win to make it the greenest Oscars in a long time? I hope so.
