That is even intentional; a wounded soldier slows down an assault whereas a dead soldier doesn't.

That being said, I'm fully in support of banning "assault style" weapons: full-auto, high capacity semi-auto, bump-stocks etc.

No need to re-invent the wheel. Civilized countries have all kinds of bans on full-auto rifles, high-capacity magazines, bump stocks... all kinds of stuff normal (non-military) people don't need for hunting or sport shooting.

I use .222 for daily hunting. A FMJ bullet does a lot less damage than a hunting bullet BTW, in any caliber
