just found out weβve directly paid march rent for just shy of 130 families through the mutual aid funds that weβve been raising through the salon β₯οΈ this is in addition to what weβve been doing through venmo and whatnot. we ran a separate fundraiser through chuffed that was very successful
Support mutual aid for people displaced by Israel's bombing of Lebanon if you can!
A long table covered in open brown paper bags being filled with HRT harm reduction kits. 2 people stand at the far end of the table, looking over the bags.
A man wearing jeans and a pink tshirt sits on a table holding a small bag of supplies. Next to him are an assortment of small boxes containing different supplies for the kits.

Each pack contains syringes, injection needles, alcohol wipes, bandaids, and a sharps disposal container, ensuring that people have safe and reliable access to gender affirming healthcare.
"ICE presence has expanded across Minnesota, especially in the past three weeks. Funds will be distributed between metro-area and greater Minnesota rent relief."
Another rent relief effort, this one from MN organization Voices for Racial Justice:
A bunch of beaded friendship bracelets, beaded earrings in pink organza bags, and three hats. One is light blue, light purple, and pink gradient with "fuck ice" in black. One is rainbow stripes, and the other is black with light blue and purple gradient stars.
Sending out more jewelry to @allisonanne.com to sell at @jamesirvinghair.bsky.social for MN rent funds, plus three gorgeous hats crocheted by my friend Maggie! I have such talented friends. πΈβ¨οΈπ

One thing I think is lost on folks who are not in the fight is how people like Ian raise thousands of dollars, covering rent for dozens of families, and STILL feel like it isnβt enough. I see it in everyone who is lending any amount of help. We are tortured by the thought that we canβt do it all.
Today I told fascists to fuck off by supplying my neighbors with groceries while they shelter in place. Last week I paid their rent. All with help from y'all!
I've now printed and shipped over 20,000 whistles, sent across the country to groups that need em. That's 20,000 off a single 3d printer that has basically run continuously in my basement since about mid-January. The crew I print with has sent out over 1M now, and we can send to you too. toot.supply
This is Minneapolis:
I'm on the admin team of a hyperlocal mutual aid group. Today someone DM'ed me with a very complex/challenging question & asked "is this in your wheelhouse?"
Me: "Oh, definitely not. But almost nothing I've been doing for the last 3 months is. Let's figure this out."

I am tapped out for the time being, but now is the perfect time to adopt a rent. Do it, you'll feel amazing.
"And that group, the Federation of Southern Cooperatives? Itβs part of a larger radical economic project, one that is frankly one of the most revolutionary projects operating in the US today, a group called Seed Commons."

Time for another report on how weβve been doing! As of today, weβve spent nearly $18k at local, immigrant-owned businesses & have provided ~2000 meals to people experiencing unhoused homelessness or food insecurity.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, shared, or lifted up our efforts!
My friend Garrett created a mobile library called the Free Society People's Library a couple of years ago. www.freesocietylibrary.org/about
"We provide free, accessible, information on radical movements and revolutionary ideas past and present to people of all ages."
I'll be sharing this in my March newsletter but our little giving circle donated $2650 in January to various MN mutual aid projects and $4100 in February.
Thanks to Giving Circle members for trusting me to make the donations. So happy we can pool our resources to make a difference.
if anyone has friends with huge followings who might be willing to flog this one, that would be amazing. it's going to take a lot to keep these kids in their homes.
this is the part that reminds me that many people are good, but rich people almost universally are not.
so many of us have come together to help when the cost of doing so means deprivation in our own lives, so that people who will never know deprivation can make fake numbers go up even higher.
Northside has been hit hard and not given the help their folks need. Please give.
still a big need for rents to be paid tomorrow! some folks have a few days' grace period but in minnesota, that's determined by the lease, and varies from situation to situation. please chip in if you can!
I keep thinking about the people for whom $400K is a small number and how they are the reason people for whom it is a very big number have to hustle like this
Please keep circulating this so that people who have $500 to spare see it
This is amazing. So much appreciation for @ziibiing.com, @colocharachel.bsky.social, @lookitup.baby, and everyone else who has helped keep families housed. ππ₯
