I feel you. I went into it not knowing the plot or how each episode was constructed and just wow. Every episode is so strong and so heartbreaking.
It's a brilliant and confronting piece of television. It was deeply impressed by it.

It's worth it to seen Lenny Briscoe's two very brief final appearances and the crossover episode with original recipe. It's a fascinating case study in when a franchise finally overextends itself.
