I used to read Isaac Chotiner’s interviews with a bit of glee, as it was enjoyable to see him flay pretty crappy people with their own words. And now reading them feels a lot emptier, as there don’t seem to be any consequences other than the interview itself for brazen lying or deception.
We’ve gone from “AI will steal your job” to “AI can make a shitty digital version of your dead grandma” - seems like things are going great for the hundreds of billions of dollars invested in AI!!
