Back in June 2025, I had the bright idea of signing up for a charity place for the Manchester Marathon. Now, in the trenches of January 2026, Iβm slightly concerned 26.2 miles is not an achievable goal. However, itβs for a great cause! Support me at: www.justgiving.com/page/pauline...
Oops. Missed posting for weeks 18-30 of #52WeeksOfEdD Not surprising with a house move, new commute and work stuff getting in the way. Need to refocus this week with a supervision session. Progress requiredβ¦ fuelled by a large coffee βοΈ
Week 17 of #52WeeksOfEdD Iβm immersed in thematic analysis and marvelling at the incredibly articulate, perceptive young people I interviewed. Itβs good to be reminded about why I do what I do. #EduSky
Havenβt posted for weeks 13,14,15 or 16 of #52WeeksOfEdD π«£ I did, however, manage to submit a draft methodology chapter and am now submerged in data analysis, while trying to declutter before moving house in 4 weeks time. Everythingβs fineβ¦ #EduSky
Week 12 of #52WeeksOfEdD and Iβm making progress with the methodology chapter (finally!) so it will continue, but not till the weekend. Iβm off to Loch Eil Monday-Fri for Outward Bound so writing will have to wait! #EduSky
Reached week 11 of #52WeeksOfEdD after a rollercoaster weekend. Completed the Great North Run yesterday which was an amazing experience. Back to reality and back to methodology. Self imposed deadline in 2 weeks π³ #EduSky
Week π
eek 10 of #52WeeksOfEdD is here and Iβm still writing. Itβs slow progress but Iβm trying to tackle it bit by bit. Supervision last week was very helpful with planning so Iβve set another deadline and am hoping for a successful (if busy) September π€#Edusky
Shine Night Walk for Cancer Research UK completed last night and one week till the Great North Run. Hoping itβs not pouring with rain in Newcastle next week like it was in Glasgow last night π³π€
Iβm at week 9 of #52WeeksOfEdD and Iβve definitely taken the scenic route with my methodology chapter. Itβs not done yet thanks to, well, life, but I have a supervision session which will hopefully give me the supportive kick in the right direction π€
Week 8 of #52WeeksOfEdD sees me working to a deadline for my methodology chapter. Iβm surrounded by notes on qualitative research while trying to keep the puppy away from the paper π #EduSky
Week 6 (last week) was all about methodology. Week 7 of #52WeeksOfEdD coincides with back to school week. The EdD plan is to continue with methodology and, with only 4 weeks until the Great North Run, the running training plan needs to continue too. Busy times ahead!
Week 5 of my self-imposed #52WeeksOfEdD and I had a very helpful supervision session last week which means itβs more methodology writing this week. In between reading/writing there has been lots of madness thanks to the puppy and lots of running (me and my bright ideas π«).
Week 4 of my #52WeeksOfEdD and itβs still methodology work but hopefully a supervision session will help clarify what Iβm doing π€Thereβs so much written about how you might be conducting your research π€― #EduSky
Graphic featuring a quote from Nicola Killean, Children and Young Peopleβs Commissioner for Scotland. The quote reads: βThe UNCRC has been part of our law in Scotland for one year now β itβs a huge step forward for childrenβs rights but there is still much more to do.β The text is in bold blue and red font. The Commissionerβs logo appears in the top-right corner, and a stylised sunrise icon in blue, yellow, and orange appears in the bottom-right.
Today is the first anniversary of UNCRC incorporation into Scots law. Having childrenβs rights in law is a huge milestone but itβs just one step. Weβll keep holding people in power to account so every child in Scotland can have their rights respected, protected, and fulfilled.
Week 3 of my self-imposed #52WeeksOfEdD and Iβm starting the week in the library to (hopefully) focus and get some writing done. Itβs raining so that makes it easier to be motivated! #EduSky
Week 2 of #52WeeksOfEdD and Iβve made progress on my methodology so the plan is to get some words on paper. Need to add a bit to my literature review too. Typical that itβs now sunny ππ’ #EduSky
Here we go with a new #52WeeksOfEdD Itβs week 1 and Iβm working on methodology reading. #EduSky
Hope theyβre 3 very fast hours π€
Happy holidays to all the teachers who finished today π₯³
As always, I have over committed myself and so posting for the EdD has slowed down considerably. This month we decided to add a puppy to the mix π Writing and reading continues though, although until the end of term itβs light touch! #EduSky
Posting about the EdD work has taken a back seat during exam season in school but data collection has continued. We have a local holiday this weekend so Iβm away from the laptop and off to enjoy some sunshine βοΈ
Final week of SQA exams π₯³ Hope all our RMPS pupils are staying strong πͺπ»
Weβve made it through 4 weeks of SQA Exams, hereβs the timetable for week 5. Hopefully the good weather is helping rather than hindering all the studying π€
Still haven't picked which # to do but work is still happening on the EdD. Today I'm tweaking the literature review, looking at pupils' experiences of stereotyping and the importance of hearing experiences of disability. The rest of the week is about survival at work π
Completely forgot to post week 2βs exams. Two days downβ¦just a few weeks to go π«π
In limbo slightly having finished #52WeeksOfEdD and also with the return to school after Easter. Some admin has been all Iβve achieved but will be back at the literature review from Monday π
#52WeeksOfEdD has reached its final week. Iβm ploughing on with my literature review which has been thoroughly picked apart, re-ordered and added to. Not there yet but I feel things are becoming clearer. Aiming to take a few days off before the holidays end so need to focus!
Week 51 of #52WeeksOfEdD coincides with the school holidays so the aim is to get more words written of the literature review. Sorry to everyone who is loving the sunny weather but Iβd like rain and general gloom please π
