Turns out picking just nine is harder than I thought, but probably the most accurate collection at the moment.

I am so tired of fragile little men starting wars. I am so tired of fragile little men making policy decisions that harm us all. I am so tired of fragile little men doing horrendous harm to children and expecting us all to forget about it. I am so tired of fragile little men with their tantrums.

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads:

The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same...

- Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist

Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.

Apparently robbing women of their past, present, and future in their own country is simply not enough for these monsters.

Everything is shit but seeing people become immediately obsessed with a floofy orange dog Pokemon is the small sliver of good I needed

We are supposed to feel sick with grief. Comfort comes with the rituals around death and being with family and loved ones and sitting with the memories of those lost at their graves/ every day etc. Grief makes us human. It shows our capacity for love and resilience. Let me live with it.

I think we may have just used sand and dirt, and the trays were the containers so that multiple kids could work on different "pits" at once. I'll get some extra details from the person who actually put it together and let you know

We actually did something similar for a kids activity at my museum using cheap basting trays, different kinds of sand/dirt, and some broken pottery and knicknacks. It was a big hit!

Build-a-boat game (using household bits like tin foil/straws/etc) to sail down the Nile! Include candy "bricks" that they have to take to build a pyramid, or let them design and color their sails

My thoughts exactly - but with snacks. Fun-size candy bar bricks, or maybe graham crackers?

Unpopular opinion:
No one is a warrior. Feudal romanticization of violence has irreparably damaged several generations of men that were born gentle. You were not born with a sword or a gun in your hand. οΏΌ You were destined for bigger and more meaningful things than to die for an uncaring king.οΏΌ
