Last year, I gave a talk to MA students that left them like 'your life is so exhausting, where is the reward for being a writer' and I was like 'no it's so worth it, it's so energising & amazing' & they were a bit like 'we don't believe you' and at the moment, am exhausted and I don't believe me 🦥

Delighted to see this student led campaign to remove chat gpt from College WiFi today on environmental and ethical grounds. Hope it succeeds

On International Women's Day we stand with our Palestinian sisters. We condemn the apartheid, incarceration and genocide that Israel subjects them to and respect their courage, resilience, dignity and resistance. Palestinian women deserve, and will have, freedom, justice and equality. #FreePalestine

Thinking of the Iranian schoolgirls this international women's day who were, brutally and worse than appallingly, robbed of their chance to become women by US and Israel.

I've never had a poem nominated for the forward prize, I feel like if there were a backward prize I'd have a better shot at it. 💫

Minister O’Donovan regularly gives impression that he despises soccer.
What happened in Dundalk was a disgrace & the days of pyros at matches must be over.
However O’Donovan seems almost gleeful at administering collective punishment.
Will the same happen after a GAA or rugby melee?

Several people have asked me why Tyra Banks was wearing a trench coat during the documentary. And I’ll just say: when someone walks into a room but keeps their coat on, it’s a way of saying “I’m just popping in, won’t be here for a long.” I think she was communicating her lack of interest.

Textile art of a figure with horns and curves
Textile art of eyes and lips and text saying 'speak your peace'
Textile art of two figures, one feeding a high heel to another. A fire in the background. Both figures have horns. Their legs are intertwined.
Art from Shirani Bolle, now on display in Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh. It's so worth a little trip on the train to see. There's also amazing work by Elinor O'Donovan about beatles 🪲10/10 recommend for anyone missing the Crawford which omg I am.

This confirmed by the Taoiseach in the Dáil just now – a significant backtrack by the Government in the midst of an acute housing shortage, now allowing more properties to stay in use for short-term lettings without needing to register/amend their property designation as 'commercial'

I wonder if people in salaried jobs who create applications for arts opportunities ever think about how much time the applicant has to put into the application and if the potential and competitive reward is worth that much energy. I'm just so tired of applications. I just want to make things. 🔥
