Thursday’s run brought out the sunshine and one vintage model runner giving it his best shuffle. No medals, no records, just a steady cruise. The legs may not be quick, but they’re reliable. Not bad for a classic model still happily in production.

Today I swapped a lie-in for a stopwatch (iPhone) to be one of the timekeepers at War Memorial Park junior parkrun. There’s something uplifting about standing with my finger poised like I’m launching a rocket, while a stampede of small, turbo-charged humans hurtle past. 181 finishers. #juniorparkrun
Coventry parkrun was flooded, so I headed to Warwick Racecourse instead. Not sure if I ran a 5K or entered the steeplechase… more water jumps than the Grand National! All I was missing was a jockey, some silks, and a whip. 🏇💦 😂 #parkrunuk #loveparkrun #ukrunchat
One of the best things about being retired is that you can run whenever you fancy. No more running in the dark, no more mysterious cul-de-sacs, and no more accidentally trespassing because you thought a garden path was a shortcut. These days, if I get lost, it’s in broad daylight—with witnesses. 👨🏻🦳😂

This was my first time at Evesham. They had to change the course as there was another event on today. I was just unlucky to pick today😂😂
I’m smiling in this photo as it was taken before the run. The usual course was changed and it became a 3 lap run with some very uneven ground. I managed to strain my calf muscle and had to limp over the finish line. 🙁 #parkrunuk #loveparkrun
I can’t believe that it is 44 years since I ran my first full marathon. No chip timing, no nutrition at water stations (we did get a wet sponge 😂) and no medal at the finish. We had to wait until the results were published in the local newspaper and then we could collect a hand typed certificate. 😃
