it’s 67°F and they have raspberry ice today, so storm clouds be damned

i have screens on the exposed soil on the plants so the cats can’t dig, but thought they were just being tricky.

anyway, the figs are going out 1st thing after the cold snap next week. they can handle 40’s but can’t handle sunburn, so they’ll go out on the shade wall for a few weeks at first

been going out of my gd mind trying to figure out if 1 of the kitties started weeing in the indoor plants for > month now.
the thing is, it only smelled like cat wee when the room was getting PM sun. finally figured out that it’s the fig tree leaves when the sun hits them! it’s thing, apparently!

it is! we’re about 300’ higher than most of the city, & our house is at the top of South Park.
flip side: we BAKE in teh heat waves so I’ve got 4 Norwegian pines going in on the west yard where the monster Chinese trumpet vine tries to take over every year—to get shade on the house in the future

came to my study shelter to not study for once, but to just read a book and drink iced tea.

still have no idea why someone was blasting it, so it was really weird & i thought maybe it was a dream when I woke up this morning. But then I looked at my blue sky search and noticed that I had searched for keywords that showed that I did look up whether or not he had gone to hell for real.

i woke up at 3am to someone blasting an aria or requiem somewhere in the neighborhood & my first thought was that that thing we are all wishing for had happened and that the m a g a guy on our block was blasting it, lol

my mom helped a lot today w/the moving. When we got home, she collapsed on her chaise & was like, “oh no! it’s almost time to feed the cats & toby!”
then i told her that they won’t expect food until 6pm today, & she was all “I forgot about the time change! Yay! That is the best news ever!”
