Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again
Rated PG-13. "Singing," "dancing," "sex" and Christine Baranski. Running time: 1 hour 54 minutes.

Rewatched Mamma Mia 2 last night with my brother and his husband (their first dance was to an ABBA song) and friends (who wore the β€œGimme Gimme Gimme A Man” shirt we wore for their bachelor party). It was all delightful, but the best part was remembering and finding this gem from the NYT review.

N.Y. Attorney General Orders Hospital to Resume Youth Transgender Care

@rikiwilchins.bsky.social 2026 Mar 2 NYT
NY Atty Genl Leticia James orders NYU Langone Hospital to continue offering GAC to minors just 2 wks after it stopped, pointing out that it may be violating state anti-discrimination laws which bar treating a single class of patients differently.

As Kagan notes in her dissent, the Court opted not to hear the due process parental rights argument against bans on gender-affirming medical care in Skrmetti, basically setting up a regime where parents can force their trans children back into the closet but cannot help them out of it

BREAKING: SCOTUS shadow docket decision rules in favor of forced outing of trans students, reinstating a lower court ruling against California's law prohibiting forced outing. Also references forcing teachers to misgender trans students. Horrific precedent.

YES. As a cis woman working in trans advocacy and healthcare, I have like three conversations a month about this with other cis women who don't want to be under the same umbrella as TERFs. Which, fair, I sure as hell don't either! But we ARE, which is why it's on US to deal with them.

Catch me ranting for twenty solid minutes about Christians denying the alt-right Christian Nationalists "aren't real Christians" because yes! They are! The fire is inside the house! When there's a fire in your/our house, that is ON US to put it out!

I'm waiting till there's a release date in sight because these books are WORK and I don't want to lose track of everything again before the end of Alectopause

Also, I need to reread The Locked Tomb series because a reread is almost a necessary part of the reading experience, and that would take time, focus, and probably a notebook tbh.

I've been wanting to reread "100 Years of Solitude" but haven't been able to unplug for long enough to have the reading experience I want, so that's the top of my list!

I'm in Los Angeles visiting my brother and his husband, and being in their home for the first time really solidifies that hot damn, my brother really found someone who's more obsessed with both cats AND Doctor Who than I am??? Which I knew in theory but is WILD to see in its native habitat.

that's over $10k for emergency cash support for BIPOC trans folks in Portland plus a combined $15k+ to keep ICE-impacted Twin Cities families fed and in their homes

sometimes the world is a really good place, actually

A circular logo with a light pink background and dark blue border. A lighthouse comprised of dark blue, dark blue/green, and lime green shapes is beaming out a light in the same lime green, with three signal lines in the same colors at the end. Wavy shapes in the same dark blue and a softer sea green are under the lighthouse. Text reads "Affirming Behavioral Health" beneath the beam of light.

I work in the field of LGBTQ+ advocacy and healthcare, and my primary work right now is in developing a SUPER cool org providing specialized, affirming mental health services for queer folks in Maine. We're in our soft-launch era, and you can learn more about us here! affirmingbehavioralhealth.org

Avery, a white woman with brown hair in a gray t-shirt, is lying on her side with her head resting on a very unimpressed-looking cat. Catelyn (said cat) has white facial and neck features, and black/brown/gray markings on her nose, head, and body. Avery is smiling widely, and Catelyn is allowing this interaction because this photo was taken about thirty minutes before her dinnertime and she's a lot more tolerant than usual in this window.

Now that I'm back here and connecting with some new folks, quick intro! I'm Avery: she/her | mid-thirties | queer | Maine.

Passions include sci-fi, poetry, sapphic romance, Waffle House, yapping at length, and ALL cats, but particularly my girl Lady Catelyn Stark, pictured below.

Hey so just fyi, if you're abandoning trans rights you're abandoning all civil rights

At that point what the fuck is the point of the democracy you're willing to sacrifice trans people for

This actually isn't hard at all, quit making it pretend hard because you finally feel scared too

Last night we helped raise over $15k for Minnesota and Portland, and we did it just by goofing off. I woke up feeling a little less hopeless than usual. Feels good to just help to help, but especially just by having fun and talking about silly stuff. Let's do it more!
