Anyone able to spot the difference?

“Your wife asked that we take special care of your knives, so we’ve done that, don’t worry!”
The knives, with special care:
I am going to like having a camera closet
I think a lot of people not from Spain don’t realize how close the mountains are to Madrid. From my desk at the new house.
Also, look at my buddy on the right
New neighbor makes me happy
Windows down, singin’.
Thanks! Out here grinding at 2:30 to get the stuff in the house I don’t want the movers to need to move (cameras, calibrated monitors, my collection of mortar fuses… 😆)
A hat trick in the first half is pretty nice.
My wife went with her dad since tomorrow is moving day. Rats.

We didn’t want to move. It’s the only place the kids have ever lived. Right in front of my in-laws.
But the office is going to be nicer. And there’s a chimney. And a yard.
Aaron, what capture devices do you use? I’ve always been very curious if you are using a DeckLink 8K Pro G2 or…?
Equifax, who is obliged to give credit reporting because of ITS screwups, telling me how to manage my life. Sort yourself out.
And with stock photos of people smiling at their sWith smiling people paying their debt?
And a typo: “Ggetting…”
Long-time buddies Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were out for a pleasant van drive in Oklahoma when, all of a sudden, their lives would change.
And, yes, I was an R. I was deeply disillusioned, with Katrina, Iraq, Harriet Miers. But you could be an R and it wouldn’t define every facet of your politics. You didn’t have to blindly support things you hated or be called a RINO or traitor.
But here we are.
I was already living in Spain when Obama was elected. I remember Spanish people telling me there was no way Americans would elect a black president. I assured them it was possible. I still knew my country at the time. And I was an R still.

Forgot to post this cover of a famous Spanish humor weekly.
On the other side of the spectrum. When your 8yo’s Russian friend requests a song and your recommended songs will never be the same again:
Have you ever forgotten an album so much that it weirdos you out that you know all the lyrics to every song.
This is like smelling cut grass and lilacs. The smell of a high school crush’s perfume.
The nationalist navy tosses flowers into the sea. Children give them the fascist salute from shore.
From the same archive: another well-composed shot of the nationalist sympathizers watching (from the Santander lighthouse) a plane participate in the memorial event, with the pilot tossing out flowers to those gathered below.
Santander (northern Spain), October 10, 1937
A Franciscan monk waves the nationalist flag at the ships below, honoring the fallen nationalist sailors.
I've always taken extra time to look over this photo whenever it comes up in my files. It's a great photo.
Imagine what Eric Blair/George Orwell would say about these unprincipled scoundrels.
Every word by Orwell is a treasure. Whether on tea or Burma. There is more honor, empathy, and intelligence in Orwell’s obituary than Noem will ever sniff.
“The people who write that kind of stuff never fight; possibly they believe that to write it is a substitute for fighting…the soldiers do the fighting, the journalists do the shouting, and no true patriot ever gets near a front-line trench, except on the briefest of propaganda-tours.”
“This war is a racket the same as any other.”
