Kicking the Darkness Till it Bleeds Daylight: @chandraclarke.bsky.social reviews Joe P.L. Davidson's SAVING UTOPIA (@mitpress.bsky.social)
This reminds me of something Toni Morrison wrote.
"Your inability to focus isn’t a moral failing. It’s a design problem. You’re trying to think in environments built to prevent thinking. You’re trying to sustain attention in spaces engineered to shatter it."

Came across the phrase "cognitive DDOS" to describe our present culture.
Understood instantly what it meant.
Per Fix the News: “…solar panels provide an unanticipated service to agriculture: shade. Strawberry growers taking advantage of 'agrivoltaics' are reporting 18% increase in yields, and South Korea has incorporated the growing of cabbages around solar arrays into their food security strategy.”

Your monthly reminder:
Keep writing. When no one cares, persist. When things appear to be crumbling, keep at it. When it's difficult, push through. When you feel alone, listen to the stories in your blood. Just write. The world needs your stories.
Uh huh.
Nonsense. We haven’t begun to tap rooftop capacity, and you need to go ‘do your research’ on agrovoltaics. And in the meantime, stop being an unpaid propagandist for oil and gas billionaires.
All of human existence requires extractive processes. We need to manage those properly and use energy that doesn’t f*ck up the climate as well.
Same as your oil pipes, tanker ships, rigs, tanker trucks, refineries, oil rigs, pump jacks, tanker rail cars, drills…
That wasn’t the gotcha you thought it was.
A mountain covered in removable and recyclable solar panels providing cheap clean energy vs setting the actual ocean on fire.
