It's difficult to say. On the one hand, we seem to know the range of variability of Iguanodon quite well, and Magnananus appears to have its own characteristics; on the other hand, this is a situation that could occur in another couple of Iberian taxa: Delapparentia and Paulodon (or I. galvensis).

Did you know that there are three or maybe four taxa on the Iberian Peninsula that are very similar to Iguanodon? No, of course not, most people who live here have no idea either. And the first one I have reconstructed is Magnananus, a large animal discovered in Soria, in northern Spain.

The name is awful, that's true.

That's right, even the most defenseless-looking animal can be a very challenging opponent!

And thank you! As for adding protofeathers... well, with all that is being discovered, I think we can assume that many of these animals would be much more “decorated” than we thought.

A couple of notes: they are commonly thought of as harmless herbivores, when in fact their remains reveal them to be enormous, massive animals with highly developed front limbs, which, combined with hands that they used to stab, stomp, and grab, must have made them quite dangerous creatures

Let's take a look at today's Iberian dinosaur, which brings us to the slightly more advanced ornithopods with Draconyx, possibly a basal member of Ankylopollexia, although we actually know very little about this Portuguese dinosaur, as only part of a hind limb and teeth have been recovered.

And here I have released a rendering with Foeskeia, so you can appreciate just how tiny this recently discovered rhabdodontomorph really is.

The reconstruction is therefore highly speculative, but I have added the usual characteristics such as a short, wedge-shaped head with a narrow beak, like Camptosaurus, bipedal and quadrupedal locomotion, and a somewhat “heavy” appearance, despite being an animal of perhaps three and a half meters.

Everyone is busy creating paleoart of the new spinosaur, but the truth is that a couple of weeks ago, the description of Foskeia was published, a very strange rhabdodontid found in northern Spain that is already one of the smallest dinosaurs

No sólo es muy muy pequeño (ni medio metro) si no que además tiene un cráneo ciertamente curioso que, al menos a mí, me recuerda ligeramente a los ceratopsios primitivos

Yes, every paleoartist in the world is currently drawing this little animal, so I didn't want to be left behind and I made my own version, because some friends were involved in its discovery, so we have to give them the tribute they deserve!!

The truth is that it's quite incredible. Not only is it enormous, but it also has that strange horn, the cretas, the proportions... nature has designed something that any animation studio would reject for being too absurd.

La verdad es que es un honor que en Koprolitos se hagan eco de "Saurópodos Ibéricos", si, son unos frikis maravillosos, pero sobre todo, unos cacho de profesionales

Muy muy orgulloso y agradecido @koprolitos.bsky.social

And what's more, if you want them to understand nothing, but do it on paper, all the sheets are in DIN A3 format, ideal for printing in high quality!

You know, SAY IT WITH DINOSAURS!

It's Valentine's Day, and well, in case you didn't know, there's nothing that works better with your crush than a free guide in Spanish on Iberian sauropods. They won't understand a word, but they'll appreciate the gesture!

Well, after a lot of struggle with image formats and my own embarrassment, I have made A BOOK (well, it's a PDF, let me have my moment) about the sauropods of the Iberian Peninsula.
