Would like to hear you you talk about the phrase “to cry uncle”. It’s a new one on me.

Yep don’t get me wrong I didn’t want a rockumentary about Wings either. I had a great time with it. Very moved in places but thought it bounced around too much and oddly. it spent more time on him going to jail in Japan than it did on Ram which just had Sean Lennon saying it was good.
Have to agree. I loved the footage but it failed to tell the history or to honour the participants. hopped around like a bluebottle, never settling enough for a point to land. Strange. I did enjoy it though.
Just looked and it seems prices have returned to normal. Let’s see what arrives in the post. Thanks for the tip off
Ethiopiques 10 is one of the most beautiful compilations I’ve heard. Wonderful.
I think it's pretty much dead now sad to say
I think I might be missing one of the EPs. And I didn’t realise they issued the EPs on Parlophone as well as the album.
Good to find you here I used to enjoy your posts on verygoodplus
Do you have the Ralph Tuck ones too? I have two copies of his LP- one with each sleeve. Suffolk’s Bob Dylan.
Excellent
I have a couple of these and saw others live. It was a weird time for music as Napster and MySpace disrupted how we found things.
I remember thinking I’d never tuck in a t-shirt. More fool me.
What do you get when you kiss a guy? You get enough gems to catch pneumonia. Then when he do, he’ll never phone yer…
And drew him
Actually I’ll come clean I made two
I‘d have Figure Of Nobody in the Fitzwilliam. data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/71...
I like him so much I made my own out of air dry clay
Actually it was The Kaiser Chiefs when they were called Parva Supporting The Rapture.
That’s a great story. I’ve always wanted one like that. I think I’ve seen one support band who went onto bigger things and I can’t remember who they were so that doesnt work.
Pumpkins Siamese Dream Tour at Wolves Civic Hall was my first proper gig. it was amazing and unbeaten probably.
Just bought an old comic from the week of my birth (whoopee 8/5/76) and it contains a letter from Jeremy Vine
With some of these artists (like Can) it's access to stuff that was previously obscure and hard to get hold of but now it's easily found. With Sade and Enya it's reappraisal of stuff that was written off a bit.
These have always been influential to those in the know but now everyone can be influenced by Can and Durutti Column, so I'd say them
just saw a post with the Bobby Gentry MfP Delta Suite Mentioned. Are there many more of these MfP cloaked reissues of interesting records?
Here’s a few of mine, without too much thought…
Across the Universe - Fiona Apple
Eleanor Rigby - Ray Charles
Yesterday - Ray Charles
Flying - Frank Sidebottom
Martha My Dear - Slade
Golden Slumbers - Jennifer Hudson
Norwegian Wood - Cornershop
Top of the Pops LP
Dalida LP
Caribbean Carnival LP
Pre-Christmas charity shop run resulted in these three. My first totp lp has Barabajagal on. Caribbean Carnival is the winner.
I feel like someone on twitter would know the answer and it would involve the word leverage
Henry’s Cat said that snow was the result of clouds shivering so much that bits fell off.
Saw Force Majeure yesterday. Very funny although watching an ostensibly reasonably successful family man having to face up to and come to terms to his inherent shitness was painfully relatable.
I loved his writing too and read him to my young daughter. I remember her being very amused by The Dog That Bit People
