tweet saying you can't read Proust because your brain is cooked by screens
No. Ignore this. You are capable of reading books again. The brain is highly malleable and you only need a few screen-free weeks to recover your focus. You will be amazed how quickly the hunger for reading returns. You will be inhaling words
it all sucks so bad, might have to go see superman a third time.
Attacking and shutting down free speech is a hallmark of authoritarianism. Heβs following that playbook.

1. Earlier this year, Trump erased transgender people from the Stonewall National Monument webpage, digitally burning the history we helped create.
Now, he's doing the same to bisexual people.

βSuperman is too woke!β
Literally the first page of the first ever appearance of Superman:
if Trump were actively trying to impoverish and deskill the united states for the sake of our competitors, what would he be doing differently?
Describe the United States of America:
Planning to spend the day writing some new queer romance because how else can I possibly celebrate this stupid countryβs birthday?
Be gay, write gay shit I guess
He proposes releasing some ICE prisoners to labor on farms where the employers will βown themβ and be responsible for them.
Historians have spent decades meticulously proving the straight line between slavery and modern capitalismβs concept of the laborerβor we could just let them say it.
Republicans in Congress have voted to devastate millions of people across our nation β kicking Americans off their health care, shuttering hospitals, eliminating food assistance, and raising costs.
This is Project 2025 in action.

Today's Supreme Court decision, though couched in the language of freedom and inclusivity, is a tragic failure for both the right to read and the rights of LGBTQIA+ people. Authors Against Book Bans stands firmly and fiercely against the decision and its rationale. To allow parents to "object" to the presence of positive books about the lives and rights of LGBTQIA+ people is to allow them to "object" to the existence of LGBTQIA+ students, parents, educators, and others in the wider community. You cannot βopt outβ of reality, no matter what todayβs majority opinion states. These books belong on shelves and these stories belong in classrooms and curricula.

Always loved the people who are like, "But my ancestors came here the legal way!" and by that they mean they arrived via ratship to an island, a man asked them their name, they were like, "Uh, Jeff... Smith?" another guy said "sure?" and then they became permanent residents of the United States.
It's so funny Trump says Zohran Mamdani looks TERRIBLE because when I saw Mamdani at my bodega, before I realized who he was, I was like "What a handsome man in an impeccably tailored suit!" And I'm one of those lesbians who usually proceses men like the faceless WAH WAH adults in a Peanuts cartoon.
