There is an old saying in Canadian politics. "Liberal or Tory, same old story". The really iconic progressive things like healthcare and CPP came from a Liberal minority gov with CCF/NDP support. Provincial NDP govs have the best record of being on budget but we never elect them federally 🙄.
It isn't a US specific level of stupidity either. Here in Canada we have the same flavour of racist they just mostly pick on Native People (at least publicly). It's all disgusting. Perhaps one day we will be able to educate this stupid crap away so we can become better as a species.
