For those that survive, there will be memorials for all the dead and a slap-on-the-wrist response for those responsible for the horrors in the UK and US in no more than 30 years. We will treat it something like Regan's response to the AIDS crisis. A preventable tragedy no-one is punished for.

As I have said repeatedly, the only move the anti-trans side has is pretending that they've found a scandal, then describe the way medicine (or medical research) works in every other field but trans care in breathless, scandalized tones.

If you have trans pals who work in fields where conventions/out-of-state conferences/etc. are common—this is yet another reason why we often can't do those.

This is esp. true for immunocompromised folks…some of us have elevated hospitalization risk should we get sick *at all*, let alone mid-travel.

This reasoning could easily be extended to LGBQ people as well. They could say it's not irrational for a state to ensure an appreciation for one's sex by promoting heterosexual relationships rather than gay relationships.

What's so insidious about this particular line is that it sets a framework for courts to bless any number of coercive measures by state and federal governments to get people to not transition. It establishes coercing people not to transition as a legitimate government interest.

It even directly says that trans adult care bans are legal in the ruling.
