Really enjoyed attending the launch of Ilisha Thiru Purcell's @vervepoetrypress.bsky.social pamphlet What She Said at Northern Stage this weekend. A clever combination of forms from Tamil poetry and north east landscapes. Great to hear @shashtrevett.bsky.social read her work too!

#BREAKING All five artistic teams shortlisted for the 61st Venice Biennale have released a joint statement in support of winning duo Khaled Sabsabi and Michael Dagostino who were dumped by Creative Australia following media and political pressure.

Ghosts do not come to gulp blood in the battlefields of our era, nor demons to consume flesh.

The ghosts and demons that consume us from afar have faces like yours and mine.

Thank you for this! Sivasegaram is a fantastic poet, both in Tamil and in English, and ‘Faces of War’ is one of my favourites in our anthology. Here is a link to the complete poem (p58). Plus a chance to read more of his work. I’m so happy you are enjoying the book 🙏🏽
