I was on YouTube, looking up a particular dance from Uzbekistan (Lazgi.) One of the responses was an AI video of ”traditional dance” and it, and the clothes, were ridiculously incorrect. Ugh.

I forgot about the time change and stayed up too late!
Saw the Aurora concert in a movie theater - her show from Mexico City on dia de muertos. It was so good, not just the concert, but the feel of a giant safe space. We need more of that in the world today.

We are watching the women’s gold medal curling match, SUI vs SWE, and conveniently their uniform colors match the curling stones.
I went shopping for dresses on Etsy and holy crap, the AI! So much AI-generated garbage.

Very grateful that the Olympic curling medal matches are at a reasonable-for-me time. Mixed doubles has been SO good this year. #curling
Target’s new CEO says ”we weren’t clear enough about who we are as a company.” I think they were pretty fucking clear about it.
Apparently there was a preacher preaching against the monks at last night’s Walk For Peace stop. Funny how the Buddhist monks are more christ-like than the christians.
The lows here are going to be around -6° F/-21° C, so I am off for another round of trying to keep the ferals warm. Heading out to buy a bale of straw and a ceramic heat emitter and lamp. Maybe supplies for a tote-and-styrofoam shelter.
And by it I mean connection, blessings, peace. We could all use more of it.
The fact that they have been walking across the south makes that extra surprising. I’m glad that people are stepping outside their culture and appreciating them. People seem hungry for it.
I have been watching the Walk for Peace in photos & stories, and I am shocked and delighted that so many people are going to see the monks and asking for blessings.

I am always ready for EMERGENCY CAT PIC
Happy to report that we’ve seen two of our regulars feral cats. Their visits were brief but I am so grateful that they’re okay.
I spent the night of the attack outside with a shovel, ready to defend our space. The horror of that night still echoes in my mind, on repeat.
The night of the attack the dogs returned to our yard then fled. I briefly saw one of our regular ferals that night and he fled. I really hope he escaped them.
I’m worried about the dogs coming back. I worry that they killed more than one cat that night. I worry that the surviving ferals won’t come to our heated shelters.
Two nights ago we had two loose dogs get into the backyard and fatally attack one of our feral cats. We have not seen the other ferals since then. Extreme cold weather is imminent and I am so, so worried.
