Re-attempting to restrict my time on here, logged on briefly and it appears the official opposition party in UK is losing its mind about what's going on bank notes. Cool. Glad I logged off. Like, it's irrelevant. I don't pay with cash any more.

Beginning to think her entire thought process on policy positions is this:
1) What has the government said / done
2) Do the opposite
3) It all else fails repeat latest X talking points
I am happy to bet all of Nigel Farage's cash for gold shares that no parent raised this issue with Laura Anne Jones. She's just seen it on the internet and decided to run with it.
This is a perfect example of the far right misinformation pipeline. Schools in the US have litter trays for kids in case of an active shooter situation. This has been bastardised as part of the US culture wars stuff. And is now being regurgitated by a UK politician.

Very much agree on this. It should have happened after Trump's tantrum in Feb 25. It didn't. And we're all worse off for it. The one thing that gives hope - centre right and far right are completely detached from public opinion on Iran.
Case in point.

Without getting too Gramsci about all of this - the media is influenced by the position of the general public, as much as it tries to influence. Irrespective of the far right brainrot at the heart of the owners of these publications. That is not going to change.
At what point does the detachment of the centre right from public opinion start to dawn on them? We have whole swathes of our media and political ecosystem that simply isn't in line with the zeitgeist.
A remarkable feat, creating a team worse than the sum of its parts.
Got to question why teams like England get to stay in the 6 nations given what they offer. Should let Georgia in an drop them down a tier π.
Strong first performance. Falling back on the next couple of games. Bit out of sorts and confused in midfield after a few phases whilst not performing to potential. Are England the new Italy?
It really does! Love it.
Something inherently unlikable about the English rugby team.
Italy growing into this game.
Aye, think England will be in for a long night. Whilst Scotland will need to potentially have a 5 pointer away at Ireland. Difficult. Lovely game though.
Don't think many had Ireland v Scotland as the potential 6 nations championship decider after round 1.
This Six Nations is nuts. Blooming love it. Apart from England. We're terrible.
I think this is interesting for a whole host of reasons. But especially, and particularly, because the war is monumentally unpopular in America, and polling largely backs Starmer's approach.
OPINION: Every uncritical mention of far-right rhetoric is an editorial choice with political consequences.
Hereβs how some media outlets are no longer just covering these forces β but amplifying them.
Dupont is just unreal. Week after week, after week.
Americans cannot comprehend that this is what an elite athlete's physique looks like.
Advantage Γcosse. Tense opening.
Remarkable that a central strategy of Trump's administration is based around the assumption that a large part of America is as a big a bunch of racist wankers as they are.
100% I mean, I've been wanting this since pre 2010 but god it's now or never, really. Especially with the far right gaining traction.
Yes, we need to get rid of first past the past. It's been obvious for years. But no party who is in power and thinks they'll retain a majority will willingly do it.
I think there is a vg case for the Alternative Vote (pluralist majoritarianism) UK's evolving party system - not least as of balanced use for voters on different sides of political spectrum. It allows sincere voting by every voter + strategic choices by those who care

This is who Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage wish us to unwaveringly follow into war with.
In 24hrs we've had:
Extracts from the Epstein files show claims Trump sexually abused a 13yr old child.
US intelligence state it is likely that America was responsible for bombing a girls school in Iran that killed 150 kids.
Trump react angrily to claims Russia is helping Iran target US Forces.
Trump appears unconcerned that American soldiers are being put at risk by Russian intelligence.
