It used to be ass. Its gotten a lot more strict these days and its fair that it did. But if you’re trying to start your own entity dealing with payments I can’t imagine it can be easy to wade through it all and come out unscathed unless you really understand it all

The most basic of things can generate a lot of records we have to maintain for compliance, and we do a lot of those things. I have a stack of paperwork on my desk just from FY26 that would make anyone dizzy. I’m not even management, thats just my stuff Ive scanned and inventoried.

Deleted my responses because I felt like they were a lil to unintentionally confrontational. It depends on the size of the entity, how many things you have that fall under it, etc. I deal with it more than yearly, and not just PCI. Pretty much going through some sort of audit all year.
